BREATHWORK FOR ACTORS
This 7-week course is designed to delve into the transformative power of intentional breathwork. Tailored specifically for actors + artists.

SELF CARE FOR THE ARTIST
The actor’s path is exhilarating, creative, and deeply human—but it is also filled with unique challenges. A career in acting often means facing more rejection in a single year than many experience in a lifetime. It requires you to be emotionally available, mentally agile, and physically present at all times. You must be ready to embody any emotion, inhabit any character, and live truthfully in a wide range of imagined circumstances. And yet, few actors are taught how to care for their own body, mind, and spirit in the process.
Self Care for the Artist is a vital course designed to support the whole artist—not just the performer. In this class, we will explore accessible, practical, and powerful tools for taking care of your nervous system, managing anxiety, and building a foundation of safety and resilience in your body. This is not a luxury—it’s an essential part of long-term sustainability in the profession.
Rooted in somatic practices, mindfulness, and creative imagination, this course will help you develop a personal self-care practice that supports your craft and your well-being. You will learn how to recognize the signs of stress, understand your emotional patterns, and create rituals that allow you to stay connected to your true self—especially when navigating high-pressure environments like auditions, rehearsals, or performances.
Each class will include a mix of guided exercises, movement, reflection, discussion, and creative exploration. These practices will help you regulate your nervous system, shift out of survival mode, and access the emotional freedom and spontaneity that great acting requires. You’ll also gain tools for self-compassion, confidence, and creative recovery.
Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an emerging artist, Self Care for Actors offers a safe, supportive space to build inner strength and emotional endurance. This course will help you reconnect with the reasons you chose this path in the first place—and give you the resources to stay on it with integrity, joy, and authenticity.
Acting is vulnerable work. Taking care of yourself isn’t optional—it’s part of the job. This class gives you the tools to do both.

Self-Care for Actors is a 10 week class with 10 classes

STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

“I was placed in the intense reigns of Charlie Sandlan. I became a better artist, actor, friend, sibling and daughter because of the studio. Even now, I crave the studio every day. What I learned is present in my work every day. I truly believe in everything they stand for.”

Jes Macallan

“Maggie taught me that I could control my work, my acting, and to throw all of the bullshit out that I had in my head about ‘what I should be doing’ and to just listen and respond honestly, in the moment. She gave me a craft. She is, quite simply put, THE BEST.”

Leslie Bibb

“Maggie Flanigan taught me the true meaning of artistry, passion, and professionalism. I am certain that I continue to work as an actress because of my training with Maggie. At every audition and every performance, her guiding voice is with me. It is a gift beyond measure.”

Andrea Anders
