Alumni News: Mike Colter Returns to ‘Luke Cage’
Here’s an exclusive look at the return of the Marvel series, ‘Luke Cage’ starring former Maggie Flanigan student, Mike Colter.
He’s Harlem’s, bulletproof man. You try to punch him, and you’ll break your hand. Guns are useless. So is fire. Nothing can hurt Luke Cage, the one man on a mission to clean up his neighborhood.
And after a detour helping out Marvel’s Defenders, Cage heads back to Harlem, where he’s become a local hero, because of the whole invincibility thing. But, this time he’s met his match.
In the first full trailer for Luke Cage Season Two, which will drop on June 22 on Netflix, there’s finally a villain who can draw blood from Cage. That villain is Bushmaster, aka John McIver (Mustafa Shakir), who in the comics is a mob boss and street fighter with superhuman strength. In this trailer for Season Two, Cage goes head to head with Bushmaster, who can not only resist bullets but also seems to be a little bit stronger than Power Man.
Thankfully, Cage has some help this time. This trailer also has a first look at Misty Knight (Simone Missick) with her new bionic arm. “Who says you’re not my sidekick?” she tells Cage. It’s a good point.
